Quickstart

Paste one prompt into your coding agent. It installs the CLI, logs you in through the browser, connects your app, adds the component and picks its color and font. You only do the browser part: create an account or log in, start the subscription if you have none yet, and press Allow.

Add Nitpick feedback to this app. Fetch https://nitpickhq.com/install.md and follow every step.

Works with Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, for SwiftUI and Expo (React Native) apps.

Status, said once and plainly. Nitpick is a working name and runs on a development setup. The packages @nitpickhq/cli, @nitpickhq/react-native and the Swift package Nitpick are not published yet, so npx and package managers cannot fetch them from the public registries today. The docs describe the version 0.2 surface that the packages are built to. When they are published, nothing on these pages changes.

What the agent does

  1. Detects whether your project is SwiftUI or Expo.
  2. Runs npx -y @nitpickhq/cli@latest login. A browser tab opens. There you create an account or log in, start the subscription if you do not have one yet ($9 per month, excluding VAT where it applies, no free period) and press Allow. The agent waits until the CLI has its token. Without a running subscription there is no token, so no installation. See Billing and limits.
  3. Creates the app on your account or links an existing one, and gets its public key (npk_...).
  4. Installs the component and wraps your root view.
  5. Names your important screens and elements, and masks sensitive parts.
  6. Reads the look of your app and picks a color and a font for the form.
  7. Builds, and sends one test report.
  8. Adds the MCP server so the agent can read feedback later.
  9. Writes the privacy texts for the App Store and Google Play into your repo.
  10. Tells you that the kinds of feedback and the two texts can be changed later, and asks nothing unless you want to change something. If you do, you approve the update_app_settings call yourself.

The settings are described in Settings. The full step list is at /install.md. Every docs page is also available as plain Markdown: add .md to its address.

Later: let the agent fix things

Once the MCP server is added, say this in your agent:

Check Nitpick for open feedback on this app, fix what you can, and mark each one resolved.

The agent calls list_feedback, reads each report with its screenshot, makes the change and calls resolve_feedback.

Prefer to do it by hand?

Follow Install for SwiftUI or Install for Expo and React Native, then add the MCP server from the MCP reference.
